Venkaiah Naidu defeats the newly elected Vice President of the country, Gopalkrishna Gandhi

Former Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu was NDA candidate. The opposition had made Gopal Krishna Gandhi his joint candidate. In the data game, Wakayaiah Naidu was chosen as the Vice-President.
After winning the election of Venkaiah Naidu, he is the second leader of the RSS background to become Vice President. Earlier, BJP leader Bhairon Singh Shekhawat (1923-2010) was elected for this post in 2002. He was elected the country's 11th Vice-President.
Venkaiah Naidu was born on July 1, 1949 in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. After completing school studies from Nellore, he graduated in politics from there. He took a degree in international law from the Law College of Visakhapatnam.
On April 14, 1971, married Usha. They have a son and a daughter. The son's name is Harshavardhana while the daughter's name is Deepa Venkata.
During the college, the National Self-Service has joined the union. Naidu first came to headlines from Jai Andhra movement in 1972. In 1975, he was also jailed in the Emergency. From 1977 to 1980, he was the president of Youth Wing.
 At the age of 29, he became the first MLA in 1978. In 1983, the Assembly reached and slowly emerged as the BJP's biggest leader in the state.
Naidu was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka in 1998 for the first time after remaining in various BJP positions. Since then, he became a Rajya Sabha MP in 2004, 2010 and 2016.
After NDA's victory in 1999, he was given charge of the Ministry of Rural Development in the Government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
In 2002, he became the national president of BJP for the first time in 2002. He has been the president till December 2002. After this he became president again in 2004.
In 2004, Naidu became the national president, but after the defeat of the NDA, he resigned. After the historic victory of BJP in 2014, he was given the responsibility of the Urban Development Ministry.
